The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission (KZNFILM) is an entity established in terms of the KwaZulu-Natal Film
Commission Act, 2010. The Commission has been set up with its main vision being to position KwaZulu-Natal as

a globally competitive, diverse and sustainable industry and choice film destination.

The KZN Film Commission aims to enhance the economy by providing and encouraging opportunities for persons,
especially from disadvantaged communities to enter and participate in the film industry in the province. In so
doing, it aims to contribute to an enabling environment to job creation and transformation.
The Mpophomeni region of KwaZulu Natal has a rich history that the KZNFILM proposes to capture in line with
the priority given to Heritage projects in the film fund policy. KZNFILM is looking for five (5) youth participants
with a history and/or interest in filmmaking research and scriptwriting, who will be trained in development of a
script with an experienced scriptwriter based on Mpophomeni history. This is a one year programme.
This Training will be held in Mpophomeni, in the uMgungundlovu District, KZN and is only applicable for
participants who reside in this area. Applicants from outside this area will not be accepted.
• Candidate must be 18-35 years old.
• Candidate must come from a previously disadvantage background and preference is given to Women,
Youth and People with disabilities.
• Ability to read, write and be computer literate.
