AMAJUBA FILM FESTIVAL – AFF proudly announces a partnership with the KZN Film Commission, NFVF and FOE Foundation NPO to bring you the 2nd Edition of an annual Amajuba Film Festival from the 13th – 15th of October 2022.

The program will include a series of workshops, documentaries, short films, and other engaging content from a variety of filmmakers across Amajuba district and KZN as a global audience.

Amajuba Film Festival is a unique Film Festival set in Newcastle, a small town in the North-Eastern part of the Zulu Kingdom in South Africa.

The Festival is established to empower local and international Film makers with a platform to show case films produced between 2019 to date. This platform will enable Film makers and audience to discuss trends and issues affecting their society and the communities. The festival will also stimulate

It will also serve as a platform to educate, entertain, and inform audience on Social, Art, Business, Political and issues impacting society globally. Headlining the festival are Feature / Short Films, Workshops, and conversations on digitizing the Film industry/sector.

We have identified the film “NGUBS” directed by Ntokozo Mahlalela as one of the most relevant in showcasing KZN Legends. Films from the festival will include various genres such as documentary, drama and beyond.

15th October 2022 – Industry Information Sharing Sessions and product offerings by the KZN Film Commission and NFVF.

The Festival will contribute towards advancement of the people from historically disadvantaged communities in the area by giving them exposure and access to diverse industries, and by creating job opportunities to the youth of Newcastle. Festival assistants will get exposure in festival management, this includes technical skills (audio- visual), and events management related skills.
