ADVISORY: National Health Act (61/2003): Repeal of Regulations Relating to the Surveillance and the Control of Notifiable Medical Conditions:
The attached Government Notice (No.46590) published in the Government Gazette dated 22 June 2022 refers.
The Minister of Health on 22 June 2022 repealed Regulations 16A, 16B and 16C of the Regulations Relating to the Surveillance and the Control of Notifiable Medical Conditions promulgated on 4 May 2022. This promulgation repeals/does away with the requirements relating to the following regulations promulgated on 4 May 2022:
16A – Wearing of face masks to contain the spread of COVID-19;
16B – Regulation of gatherings to contain the spread of COVID-19;
16C – Regulation of persons entering the country to contain the spread of COVID-19
In light of the above, KwaZulu – Natal Film Commission will no longer be offering Covid-19 related support to the film production companies, since all Covid-19 regulations have been repealed.
Please note: Should there be any change in the status quo; the above arrangements will have to be reviewed within the context of any new/revised regulations.
Further, note that:
- Notwithstanding the above, production companies are still required to comply with all relevant Occupational Health and Safety legislation providing for the health and safety of persons at work and for the health and safety of persons in connection with the activities of persons at work;
- Productions companies are not precluded from implementing any production specific COVID mitigation measures they may be required to have in place due to contractual obligations/foreign client requirements.
