TOWARDS GENDER EQUITY WITH KZN FILM COMMISSION
The month of August brings a focus on women in society at large, although the question of gender disparity should not be confined to a single month in the year. The world has been concerningly slow to balance and resolve the inequalities women are subjected to on a daily basis. In light of this, the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission has recently instituted an internal gender policy that it aims to uphold.
This gender policy provides an institutional framework to create a safe working environment for women, and the presence of women in key positions within the organisation and the community it supports.
“The introduction and implementation of this gender policy demonstrates the action-orientated reflective work done by the KZN Film Commission with the conviction that other organisations in the film and television sector will soon follow. This webinar will introduce the details and ambitions of the gender policy and has invited two industry experts to respond to the content and context of the policy’s goals. Join us to support the work being done to advance women in the film and television sector and the world.” Said Carol Coetzee the KZNFC CEO.
The webinar details are as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 31 August 2021
Platform: Virtual via Zoom
Meeting ID: 827 9729 1944
