FILM FESTIVAL ORGANIZER’S CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission (KZNFC) calls upon Film Markets and Festival directors, Managers, Programmers, Coordinators and all other emerging film event organisers to participate in this important subject on “how to organise and run a successful film Market and Festival” This will be a virtual session through a KZN Film Zoom platform on the 28th May 2021.  The local Markets and festivals in the province form part of KZN Film audience development initiative where communities that were historically excluded and unable to access film content can now watch films in their locality and learn more about film industry through information sharing session, talks and presentation in different film expert areas. Speaking about this workshop, the KZN Film Commission Chief Executive Officer Ms Carol Coetzee said “Audience development is one key initiative for the commission, that integrates the rural and previously disadvantages communities in the business and social aspect of film, the status that the urban communities exclusively enjoyed for decades”. KZN Film Commission supported the establishment of a number of local film festivals such as  KwaZulu-Natal African Film Festival (KAFF), Kwasukasukela Film Festival (KFF), Umgungundlovu Film Festival (UFF) and Ugu Film Festival.   It is anticipated that in some forceable future there will be a film activity throughout the province without exception, where film event organising skills will be employed..
